To be found on a lot of our new platform frames, the BB30 bottom bracket interface, uses an oversized bottom bracket shell, with the larger oversized (and thus more durable) bearings to sit directly inside the bottom bracket shell – no separate cups required. This also allows an oversized (for more stiffness) BB axle to be made from Aluminium (for lower weight). Thus you get a substantially lighter set up, with lower weight and increased stiffness. As an added bonus you also get a lower “Q” factor so you are less likely to suffer with heel rub on the cranks.

All our BB30 frames can be converted back to traditional bottom brackets with a simple adaptor.
