Whyte 2012
19 Dropout : As Featured on the 19 Ti, 19 Steel, 19 Alloy and 829

As you might expect from Whyte not even something as simple as the rear dropout is left without a magic touch from our designers. Used on our Ti, Steel and Alloy “19” Trail bikes, our unique dropout system provides geometry adjustment as well as easy conversion to a single speed setup.

The CNC machined rear dropouts allow adjustment of the chainstay length between 415 and 435mm. With the chainstay length increased the bike sits slightly lower giving a more relaxed feel to the ride and providing more stability on steep, technical descents. Shortening the chainstay length raises the bottom bracket height slightly for increased ground clearance, improved climbing and sharper handling in tight, twisty singletrack.

Both dropout plates are engraved with markings to make accurate wheel alignment quick and easy and the stepless adjustment is perfect to accurately tension the chain for a single speed or hub gear set up – with no need to adjust the brake calliper.
