Our bikes…racing the Whyte Saxon Cross.

Here’s a picture of the bike I have been racing in the Western Cyclo-Cross Series this winter.
It’s done 10 CX races in that series, from 6th September 2011 through to 15th January 2012, all over the western area, from Bristol to Cheltenham to Swindon. Courses have varied from fast to technical, wet to dry, hot to cold and in each it’s performed really well over the 55 minutes race duration. Only the final race in Gloucester was marred with a start line puncture caused by a small thorn collected on the warm-up laps beforehand! Other than that the races have gone well with no crashes, thanks to the fine handling and some good results in the Veterans category, gaining enough points to finish 3rd overall in this series. That has been the best result in several years of having done this type of cycle racing and much of that can be attributed to having ridden such a great bike for cyclo-cross competition.
